Butter roti
A simple and delicious Indian flatbread made with butter

Preparation

In a bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and salt.

Gradually add water and knead until a soft dough is formed.

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.

Divide the dough into equal-sized balls.

Take a dough ball and flatten it slightly.

Dust it with flour and roll it into a thin circle.

Heat a tawa or griddle over medium heat.

Place the rolled roti on the hot tawa. Cook for about 30 seconds or until bubbles start to form.

Flip the roti and cook the other side for about 30 seconds.

Spread a teaspoon of butter on the cooked side of the roti.

Flip it again and cook for a few seconds until brown spots appear on both sides.

Remove from heat and serve hot with your favorite curry or chutney.

Repeat the process for the remaining dough balls.
