Preparation

In a mixing bowl, combine the wheat flour and salt.

Gradually add water and knead to form a soft dough.

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.

Divide the dough into small equal-sized balls.

Dust the working surface with flour and roll each ball into a thin circle.

Heat a tawa or skillet over medium-high heat.

Place a rolled chapati on the hot tawa and cook until bubbles start to appear.

Flip the chapati and cook for another minute or until brown spots appear.

Brush the chapati with oil and remove from heat.

Repeat with the remaining dough balls.

Serve hot with your favorite curry or side dish.
